I think you’re missing the point. Gaming the system and spamming people is not how you promote your business. The way to do it is by having a quality product, interesting presentation, and useful content that people actually want. When you have that, you will be as popular as Dave, without any tricks. Look at my blog – I have never used any Google tricks, but I get lots of hits because I have good content that people actually want. I don’t push it on them – they come to get it.

the thing about advertisements: I have another example. during the Superbowl this past year, companies spent $3 million for every 30 seconds that their ad was on the air. It’s an enormous amount of money, but when there is a funny or well made ad, then whenever the name pops up you will suddenly have an urge to buy the product. Its pretty weird how much planning goes into advertisements but it really works!
