After having taken a couple of basic marketing courses in college I can conclude that marketing means telling people what they want to hear so they will buy what they don’t really need with money they don’t have. In theory, the sales pitch has to be backed by something substantive, but it’s not always the case.

I’ve read plenty of comments under Bill Hicks videos here on YouTube that compare Hicks with Dane Cook, saying that Cook is better. I think this comparison is not valid. The style & content are completely different. If I were to compare them, I’d say, Hicks’ ranting is humorous, but it has a strong essence – he makes you Think AND Laugh! Cook makes you laugh(?), but.. It’s some cheesy glossy humor and I’m not up for that. If Bill is Hendrix, Cook is Jon Bon Jovi (mwahaha).

I think the world is a messed up place, the ironic thing is, most people who laugh only do so because of their friends… If you don’t get it don’t laugh, do some research examine your own life, THEN laugh… It is actually very funny when you have that one day (one is all it takes) when you turn around and see the world and all in it, for what it IS, NOT what you are TOLD it is… It’s a horrible day, I hope yours comes soon ^_^
