How do I start an Online Seafood Market? Where do I begin as far as a website, marketing, advertising?

We are liscensed seafood processors and dealers in Maine, and would like to move our business to the internet. Where is the best place to start? Is there a website out there that assists new web companies? Where do I start marketing our prouducts? What are the best places to advertise?

There are many web design companies out there, and a simple Google search should bring you the best ones. Marketing and advertising will be the hardest part for you and your company, as it is not as easy as many people believe it is. Effectively marketing and advertising a site takes a lot of patience, work, and persistence.

The must for advertising products/services is to first and foremost
BUILD THE BUZZ. It's like starting a fire, you have to strike the match first.

Of course there are unlimited ways to build a buzz here in the internet but I think the most effective way is (as what companies always use) to use bloggers as the advertising tools.

You can sign up for an advertiser account at Blogvertise
(http://www.blogsvertise.com/?rid=b1218 ). They have an army of bloggers ready for your tasks and the advertiser interface is great. I suggest that you find through blogs that would be relevant to your product/site (the advertiser account feature will make this real easy). In this way, your advertisement is well targeted to your niche and hopefully it can attract customers.

The price varies depending on the quality and popularity of the blogs you wish to advertise your site (of course the more popular the blog is, the higher the chances you can reach a larger audience). But prices can get pretty cheap as low as $2 per review.

Good luck, I hope your Online Seafood Market will turn successful.
