Does anyone know a good Google Adwords management service for running my pay-per-click ad campaigns? I’m spending around $2,000 a month at the moment.
At that level it’s definitely worth going with PPC Rocket Clicks. It’s not the cheapest, but it is the best out there. It’s run by a guy called Glenn Livingston who’s amazing at Adwords; try Googling him.
For those just starting out, would simply getting products listed with search engines be enough to bolster sales? Any internet advertising tips for all of us struggling to keep the doors open would be much appreciated.

I’d say get knowledgeable about using PPC or Yahoo marketing. It’s not that difficult, you just need to make your website attractive to search engines and provide ads with good keywords in them. Your ideally looking for campaigns or organic traffic. The keyword itself is vital.
Advertising on the internet is great, but sometimes expensive even with a budget. What percentage of your income should be set for online advertising?

You really need to get traffic for website - so I’d say 5-10% or even more would be ok. If it brings in a good rate of investment (ROI) then more, for sure. With pay per click its very easy to work out what you’re paying and what its bringing in profits.
Afterall you don’t advertise just because you think you ought to, there’s got to be a payoff.
I have a website and I want to advertise it, what are the best advertising sites?
Answer Machine,
I just did a teleconference on 5 free ways to to drive traffic to your site. If you go to my site and sign in I will send you a copy of the teleconference.
My site is http://www.whoisjoebutler.com. The teleconference was a paid event but I will send it to you free. When you sign in add this beside your name (yahoo). That way I know I told you it was free.
Hope this helped.
Keep the dream and vision in front of you,
Joe

The new Transformers movie is rated PG13 last time I checked, and yet Nickelodeon has been marketing it during shows like Dora the Explorer and Spongebob. My son got a Transformers toy in his Burger King Kids meal as well.
How are they able to market this movie to such a broad range of children when arguably the kids who are viewing the ads really can't see the movie anyway?
Does this bother anyone else?
Just because it's PG13 means nothing. It's just a guide line for parents. I saw nothing wrong with the movies. My 9 year old loved it. The kids can see the movies. I believe a parent has to be with them. At that age a parent should be with them anyways.
If you have a problem with the movie don't let your kid see it. It's your choice.

I'm doing this summer program at the fashion institute of technology for advertising and graphic design, they suggested for us to know more about the industry.
Anyone can give me links and tips?
what is there to know?
You're asking what there is to know about the advertising and graphic design industry?
Well, for starters they're two interrelated industries, not one.
I have a web page I need to advertise. And really have no idea on how to go about advertising it. I need help. Real help. Not something that is going to rip me off.
Internet Marketing requires you to sale other people’s products or services, or if you have decided to create your own product, sale your own. But whether you are selling your own or others, we all have one thing in common – getting traffic to our websites. But what is most important is not just getting traffic, but targeted traffic. Thus, How Do you or I get traffic to our sites?
In my early beginnings on the Internet, I tried many methods of getting traffic to my website. I was definitely a newbie in training – some of the software or services that I bought did me no good. I found, at times, that it was truly difficult to decipher which was a good deal and which was not – who was honest, and who was not – but I guess it goes with the Internet territory – and you must always do your due diligence.
However, I have found three methods of getting traffic to my site or affiliate product or service – Buying it – PPC, such as Google, Mamma, Overture, linking or the hard one Search Engine Optimization.
Pay-Per-Click
If you have the money to invest in Google or some of the other search engines pay-per-click programs you can make some money. Here you create an ad or ads relevant to your affiliate program, and place a bid on the keywords you select. This takes time, energy, persistence and money – and research. Also, I would advise that you read your affiliate programs rules, as well as, the rules of Google Adwords before jumping into the pay-per-click arena. You usually have to put “aff” after your ad or something similar to that – it’s dependent upon the affiliate program you are in. The idea with pay-per-click is that you pay only when the individual clicks on your ad.
Linking
Linking can be by either paid or unpaid methods. The paid methods are paying for your link to be shown in Ezines, newsletters or on other peoples’ sites. It can be costly, so the best suggestion that I can give you is to research the Ezines, newsletters and or other people sites that you want to link with before buying. In most cases, if ezines are accepting advertising, you know they must have at least 500+ subscribers, or I should say, be sure that they have at least 500+ subscribers before advertising in their ezine. Know what you are getting before you put your money down – and as they always say, be sure to read the fine print.
The unpaid method is through article creation. This requires hard work on your part, but the return will be seen in the long term. Keep in mind, your articles should be relevant and address the subject matter of your site and products. Content reigns king on the Internet – and if it is relevant to their needs – they will eventually come to read.
Search Engine Optimization
Search Engine Optimization is basically the optimization of your web pages so that you can get a decent ranking by the search engines, and thus, to pull people to your website by it relevance. This is a difficult chore and needs to continually be worked at – and within the ethics of the Search Engines.
To conclude, getting targeted people to your site is really part of growing your business. And Internet marketing – well, it’s not for the faint-hearted, but for the determined, persistent individual who wants to really make a living on-line. Thus, if you really want to make a living on-line – don’t give up and promote.
Hope this helps.

I setup an Adwords campaign and pick my keywords. But I DON'T want to pick keywords, I just want to target a website on the content network. How do I do this? Do I just delete my keywords, and also I don't want to appear on SERPS pages. Thanks!
You can do it with Placement targeting, where you just need to find out the relevant website to your targeted ads and go live with. No need of any keywords because it works more on the basics of Contextual advertising. You can check few links or can contact me on ran_pop@rediffmail.com

Advertising industry is very fast-paced! It's not as easy to get in as compared to graphic design industry in general. Graphic Design industry may expand to include design house, magazine or simply some publisher of books. Advertising would then entill the strict works of campaigns with clear ojectives such as branding or tactical targetting. Experience is the key in advertising, with a sharp edge being critical. Winning awards in your studying days & internship would be of great help to secure your entrance upon fresh grad. Usually only the cream of the crop will survive & succeed well in advertising while the rest simply move into the general graphic design industry with more lenient oppportunities widely available.
Give it your best shot; all the best!
