My girlfriend is setting up her dog kennel’s and was wondering if anybody knew a good way for advertising for people to see that her service is there we are situated in Ireland.And if anbody knows a good advertising company and if anybody does advertising cards or anything like that would be great thank you.

You can get discount business cards on the internet- I would also put up fliers at the Vet offices, pet stores and contact as many dog show people as possible. Contact the British Kennel Club for show sites and dates, meet and make contact with people. Hand out cards, do some handshaking and schmoozing. Put ads in local papers, and on the radio. Have a Grand Opening with drawings for prizes and free goodies for the dogs- Like snacks with your business card attached or munchies for the owners with your business name on petit fours in the shape of biscuits. Its lots of work but once your name is out there if she gives little extras as well as great service, word of mouth will do the rest. Good Luck!

We are hosting a tournament and I have no idea how much to charge for advertising space within the program. Can anyone tell me how much to charge?

When I was in school, I had to sell ad space… if it’s for a smaller community event, something like this would be reasonable:

1/4 page: $25
1/2 page: $50
Full Page: $100

Also, consider full sponsors that could pay $200 or more for inside cover and back cover spots. Maybe an event sponsor for $500 that would get a full page plus be allowed to hang banners or have an advertisement announced by an announcer during the tournament.

For those just starting out, would simply getting products listed with search engines be enough to bolster sales? Any internet advertising tips for all of us struggling to keep the doors open would be much appreciated.

Like i see all the time these people who say i usually spend 3000 a month on an advertising campain. Are they talking about ad words/ppc? or do they use something else? what work’s good in convertion rates?

I’m starting at UGA in the fall planning to major in Marketing. I chose UGA mostly for financial reasons and hoping after a year or two when my sister’s out of college and I’ve saved up some money I’ll have better options for transferring. So does anyone know some good schools for a degree in Marketing?

I’ve just created an ad campaign in google adwords. Although the status shows live i am not sure if my ad is running. i still have to submit my billing info. will my ad run only after submitting the billing details? I looked in the help section but couldnt find anything.

If the status shows live, then everything is OK. There is an area in Google adwords after you log in where you can check whether your ads are appearing and at what position. Also sometimes it takes more than 48 hours before your adwords ads start appearing.

I started on a Marketing degree and now regret it. I have always loved to read and write and now I’m thinking of switching majors and going for an English degree. Thing is I’ve invested money in my Marketing classes and none of them apply to the English curriculum. I would end up spending MORE money and MORE time if I switch over. Should I just finish up my Marketing degree and possibly get a minor in English or Masters in English?

Here are some fantastic sites, you can use your keywords in the title, and then when people are searching on Goolge they can find your site through the portals. The site does not allow spam so follow the instructions so your ads don’t get deleted.

Ask an advisor, different schools are different and they have different requirements so your best bet is to ask them and see what they require out of their students. Good luck and make an appointment ASAP because lots of freshman wonder what you are wondering and spots will fill up! Good luck!
