I want a marketing firm to handle the social media for my company. How much would that cost?

May 20th, 2009 by admin

I know Facebook, MySpace and Twitter are great ways to help promote my company, but I don't have the time to learn them. How much would a marketing firm charge me to run my social media?

You can find a firm to handle your social media for as little as $500 a month. However, what you might want to do is create an E-Marketing Plan. This would distill your company's brand, set forth your objectives, and allow you to allocate resources in an organizeed and tactical way. . It would be also serve as an emergency manual when you have to make tough decisions at critical junctures. Much better than develop strategies ad hoc, as the need arises. Sure, you can jot your ideas down on a napkin over lunch and run with it, but these "let's put on a show" ideas are seldom sustainable in the long run. It takes good tried-and-true business practices to succeed in business..
Also, there are a lot of good ideas out there: learn to cherry-pick and adapt to your own needs.
Typical of free idea sources is word-jobber.blogspot.com. While this site limits itself to direct marketing, it's pretty shrewd. Best of all: there's a new idea every Monday, just in time for a long week.

How do you lay the ground work for a marketing plan?

May 19th, 2009 by admin

How do you lay the ground work for a marketing plan? I have a plan outlined and everything, what are some of the first steps that I should take for laying out the ground work. I need to present this to a company in order to get the job permenantly, so I kinda need help.

So if anyone can help that would be great.

Make it as easy as possible for management to get the gist of your ideas. Prepare an executive summary. This quickly overviews your major assessments, goals, and recommendations. This will help management find your plan's major points quickly. Then insert a table of contents for the plan itself.
You might want to look at a direct marketing blog that might have some ideas you can use: word-jobber.blogspot.com.

What's the difference between majoring in Advertising and majoring in Advertising Design?

May 15th, 2009 by admin

What's the difference between majoring in Advertising and majoring in Advertising Design? At Syracuse University they are two different majors. Advertising is in the school of public communications, while advertising design is part of the college of arts and sciences…??

Advertising Design is the creation of the graphic components in advertising, such as illustrations, package details, visual symbols, print ads, TV commercials, direct mail. Generally, artists ("art directors") take this major. It calls for a lot of design work and requires artistic talent.

Advertising is the body of persuasive and informational communications designed to influence the purchasing behavior and/or thought patterns of an audience. Advertising is a marketing tool. Artists (art directors) may major in this, but it is usually majored in by people interested in management, copywriting, and the like.

Consider the marketing mix. How does the marketing mix differ in the domestic and international environments? ?

May 12th, 2009 by admin

Consider the marketing mix. How does the marketing mix differ in the domestic and international environments? How is it the same? Should international marketing managers standardize the marketing mix? Why or why not?

Differences: vast differences. Are they literate or not? Is there broadcast radio/tv or not? Is there a newspaper or a shaman? Free press or government controlled access? I mean, come on. Is this even a legitimate question? In the US, the marketing mix differs from town to town in the same state. You think it's the same globally? What are you smoking?

Similarities: We are all human. We all want the same thing: something for nothing, or as close to that as we can get. But that has nothing to do with the marketing mix. Marketing is primarily based on available media. Different markets have different media strengths and weaknesses.

Standardize: See differences, above.

There are many web design companies out there, and a simple Google search should bring you the best ones. Marketing and advertising will be the hardest part for you and your company, as it is not as easy as many people believe it is. Effectively marketing and advertising a site takes a lot of patience, work, and persistence.
