I agree that his baring himself like that, with limited technical skill is part of the appeal. You can sense his torment is realer than most ‘artists’ of today. Even after listening to more songs of his, only a handful id listen to again. Some of his drawings are very good. true,they reduced some barbaric acts and given patients more rights…but these days they harass the clients psychologically, and overmedicate. no one gives a , the whole system is screwed. sometimes patients are singled out for mobbing and abuse like a preschool. often orderlies are abusive and have little training…its screwed- dont believe the smoke and mirrors. and never blow the whistle if they violate ethics,which is common, its hard to prove and they may blacklist you.
